Tiny Houses help the community. Many are created in small neighborhoods alongside others. These neighborhoods actually benefit the people that live in them, and the people that live around them. "In 2007 the National Alliance to End Homelessness compiled 3 studies showing that it costs the same or less money to provide permanent housing as it does to allow people to remain homeless. In Denver, Colorado, a housing program for the homeless reduced the costs of public services (including medical services, temporary shelter, and costs associated with arrests and incarceration) by an estimated $15,773 per person per year, saving taxpayers thousands of dollars." - Erika Lundahl, Yes! Everyone deserves a home! Tiny Homes for the Homeless wants to build small villages of tiny houses for all that need them in Maine Township, Illinois. Each tiny house costs around $10,000 to build, so we're starting small, with just two houses. These villages have been successful in many other places. They provide a sense of safety, security, and dignity, along with giving them a place in the community.
